The occasion is the Family Square Dance...so we were all dressed up.
It is technically something a friend made me. I guess shawl is a good term.

actually, i really don't know what to name it. on the knitting website that i'm on, i posted it as "Jen's Shawl"... so you can be unoriginal and just call it "Jen's Shawl."
