We Have a Garden...
And we can't find enough people to give veggies away to!! In fact, people are giving US veggies!!
Baby is officially two-and-a-half-weeks old....but no pictures of him will upload. An extra-sluggish computer is no help either....

pictures, by Bethany
isn't this the funniest look? is it a "deep in thought" look? or "what do you mean?" lol, perhaps it's a "zombie-i'm-so-tired" look? how about "sister Jenni, how many pictures are you going to take of me?!!!"
Jenni keeps posting perfect and sleeping pictures, so here's a more typical baby picture. :D

Anne and Kiki
I decided to take a break from posting baby pictures and announce my early-birthday present about 6 days late.
For my birthday, I got a furred, feline animal commonly called (on this planet) a cat.
As I can anticipate the responses to this post, I will add a very fitting post from Anne Shirley about a week before she became Anne Blythe.
In "Anne's house of Dreams", as she describes her 'ideal wedding' to Marilla and Mrs. Lynde, the latter says:

"But that would be terrible queer, Anne. Why, it wouldn't really seem legal. And what would Mrs. Harmon Andrews say?"So because I am NOT afraid of such people....I will proudly present my Kiki, twice!
"Ah, there's the rub," sighed Anne. "There are so many things in life we cannot do because of the fear of what Mrs. Harmon Andrews would say. ''Tis true, 'tis pity, and pity 'tis, 'tis true.' What delightful things we might do were it not for Mrs. Harmon Andrews!"

Perfect Pasta Salad
I fell that I must go about copying Anna, and post a recipe on my blog.
Living in the rice-alone country that I did, a 'cold salad' was unheard of. It was only when I came to the U.S. that I experienced the interesting tastes of Potato and Pasta salads. I decided that I liked 'cold salads' immensely, and due to a sudden influx of boxes of pasta noodles (there was a sale) I have my chance. I have now made three pasta salads all by myself. *Claps* The first was understandably BAD, and the second was too spiced. I have finally hit upon a very good recipe. I have halved it for all of those out there with less people to feed, but I usually make 2lb. at a time.
1lb. cooked pasta noodles (cooked to desired consistency)
1 1/2 C. minced vegetables. (peppers, carrots, celery, onions, kernel corn...you can pick and choose)
1 1/2 C. MiracleWhip (or Mayo)
1/8 C. herbs (I used basil, Italian seasoning. I still want to use parsely)
1 TB. Pepper
1 1/2 TB. Salt
Mix all but the pasta together completely. Mix in the noodles and chill (overnight is the perferred length).
