Work 2

Well, it took about 3 hours and 4 people....and I'll get y'all some pictures...

This is beginning....Kalipay decided the most efficient, and clean way was for her to get IN and scrub from there.

This is her gingerly wiping off a place to stand. That thing was SO gross...seriously!!

This is how we began draining all the water & gunk out. It didn't work......seriously!!

SO...we resorted to this!! (A wet-vac to suck all the stuff out) I had the lovely jobs of photographer, water girl, dirty junk-water disposer, and annoying sister.

This is almost done.... *whew*

This is DONE!!!

And with gratitude, this is our miracle worker....

Sincerely,

The overworked,

And tired,

And well bleached

Girls.

good work! is this freezer for your family to use?

kalipay said...

yes, it's out in the garage now, running steadily!

it wasn't a whole 3 hours at all, i don't think, and Jenni was not a completely "annoying sister". :D

(:red: and i didn't know you were posting these on here!)

Wow...looks like fun! :-)

Humph. You men are welcom to stop by and try it next time. We shall then see if you are equally as lighthearted when you finish

hey, a dirty freezer is nothing. ;) try sanding out heavy corrosion from a sheet of aluminium ...though I guess with the freezer you have to be careful about preserving the finish.

and let me tell you, with all the drugery jobs Ive work I know its true, drugery is the touchstone of character

I got one for ya'....

My brother and I spent two months scraping and sanding every angle, front and back, of some old Air Force Barracks window frames with no glass in them. Then, we primed all of them, and painted them.

now now, we made no claim to being the only ones to have done drudging work. least, I didn't. ;)

i think Army Barracks tops the list right now. anyone have a story to top that?!

um... cleaning up a house that had been flooded by rainwater and sewage from the septic tanks in the yard that had collapsed from the excess rain... and having been trying to "sandbag" house before the rain stopped and walking around in a foot of water falling into said collapsed sewage tanks...?

it was a great day

Warbler, I hate to say this, but Jon, Dan, and I would probably have picked the thing up, dumped it out, and then set it on its side for easy access and had it done very quickly with little bother to ourselves.

perhaps, but I think I would have convinced my little brothers of the great fun it would be and let them do it ;)

They would say that they should just dump a bunch of sand in it and put some rocks and branches in, and then it would be a great terrarium for their snakes and monitor lizars, etc.

we thought about tipping it, but our strong men weren't so keen on the idea... and refused assistance. they should have left it out in the yard and let us clean it before moving it into the garage. and even if i could have convinced a younger sibling to do it, the results in the freezer would not have been nearly as good as i would have desired, and the garage would have been worthy to be called a disaster scene...

well, while were sitting here critiquing how someone on the other side of the country cleaned or didnt clean a freezer, your strong men could have at least dumped out the bilge in the bottom before making you get in it!
